Researchers at the lab investigate the structure and interpretation of utterances in different signed languages, using traditional methods involving video recordings but also developing new methods making use of computer vision and machine learning techniques. The lab pursues both theoretical and applied work, aiming to contribute to diminishing the communication barrier between deaf and hearing people.
