Everyone at the UvA has the right to study or work in a safe and integrity-based environment. Nevertheless, if you experience inappropriate behaviour or a breach of integrity, there are several places at the UvA where you can turn. The reporting point will guide you. It is independent and your report will be handled confidentially.

Submitting a report to the reporting point

  • You can submit your report using an online form, which is always treated confidentially.
  • The form will be sent to the reporting point securely and encrypted.
  • A staff member from the Office of the Ombudsperson will read your form.

Response to your report

In the form, you can indicate how the reporting point may follow up on your report:

  • The reporting point forwards your report to the appropriate contact (e.g., confidential adviser or ombudsperson). They will then contact you.
  • Or, the reporting point provides you with the correct contact details, and you make contact yourself.

The reporting point is available to everyone who studies or works at the UvA

  • Students, exchange students, and alumni
  • (Former) staff members
  • PhD candidates (also when you are not employed by the UvA)
  • Visitors (e.g., guest lecturers, volunteers, job applicants, freelancers)

What can be reported

You can submit a report if you have experienced:

  • Discrimination
  • Sexual harassment and violence
  • Physical or verbal violence
  • Bullying and exclusion
  • Other social safety issues
  • Breaches of integrity or rules (e.g., theft, bribery, abuse of power, self-enrichment through fraud)
  • (Suspected) wrongdoing

If you are uncertain about submitting a report, you can still contact us for further information.
