The 3MT competition was developed by the University of Queensland and is held annually by 900 universities in 85 countries worldwide. We are very proud that the UvA can be added to this list in 2021. The winner will be announced on 7 September 2021 during the 3MT finals. Prize money will be awarded to the winner (1000 euros) and the two runners-up (500 euros each).
A total of seven PhD candidates from the Faculty of Humanities took part in the competition. Watch their video presentations below.
An independent jury selected the following three finalists from the Faculty of Humanities: Sanne Frequin (Medieval Tombs as a tool for propaganda), Lola Digard (Forensic medicine in the Middle Ages) en Rukayyah Reichling (A colonial gaze on Mecca).
PhD candidates Alexander Collin, Florence Evans, Daniella Mauer and Anna-Rose Shack also participated in the competition. Watch their pitches below.
