The Empowering Language group and the Humanities Venture Lab are organising this workshop to bring together colleagues from the Faculty of Humanities working on or interested in research and impact projects that promote reading.

During this workshop, we will interactively discuss and explore how to collaborate (across disciplines and with societal partners) to address three interconnected themes:

  • How Readers Select Books
  • How Readers Consume Books
  • How Language Diversity Informs Reading Promotion

Each theme will be briefly introduced by colleagues from our faculty: Nina van Kampen, Jan Rock and Eva van Lier. Their introductions will serve as stepping stones for interactive discussions in smaller groups.

The workshop aims to explore future collaborations and impact projects, that may be further developed with institutional and financial support from the Empowering Language theme group.
