Martina studied International relations and European studies at Masaryk University (MU) in the Czech Republic. After her studies, she started her career as a grant advisor and research policy advisor at Research and Development office at MU, Czech Republic. In 2014, she moved to the Netherlands and joined the Research support office at Utrecht University where she supported researchers in applying for (mainly) EU funded projects. During her time at UU, Martina was also involved in project management of several collaborative EU funded (H2020) projects offering her support to the Faculty of Law, Economics and Governance, and Faculty of Social and Behavioral Sciences. In 2019, she joined the grant support team of IXA at the UvA. She supports researchers of the SSH oriented faculties with applying for collaborative research grants.
