As a postdoctoral researcher, Mónika will employ mixed-methods to study narratives of (dis)trust and delve individual susceptibility to such narratives in the digital society.

Mónika Simon is an incoming postdoctoral researcher under the University Research Priority Area on Trust in the Digital Society (TRUST RPA). This jointly appointed postdoc position is spearheaded by Marc Tuters and Jan B. Engelman (Faculty of Economics and Business). As a postdoctoral researcher, Mónika will employ mixed-methods to study narratives of (dis)trust and delve individual susceptibility to such narratives in the digital society. She is currently finalising her PhD at the Amsterdam School of Communication Research (ASCoR), specialized in political communication under the Newsflows ERC project led by Damian Trilling, where she studied the dynamics of (cross-domain) information flows using computational content analysis techniques such as network analysis, neural topic modeling, and LLM-assisted approaches to natural language processing.
