Registration now open!

On 24 October 2025, we will hold the first National Conference of the sector plans for Languages and Cultures, jointly organized by the Dutch faculties in Arts and Humanities and hosted by the University of Amsterdam (UvA). The conference is intended for all staff (research and teaching) working within the field of Languages and Cultures.

The aims of the sector plans are to ensure a sustainable foundation for education and research, to facilitate multidisciplinary collaboration, and to generate greater impact of humanities research and education in tackling complex social issues. At the conference we will take stock of our sector and identify future directions and (collaborative) opportunities. A varied and interactive programme has been put together, providing ample opportunities to discuss how to future-proof the languages and cultures sector. There will be plenty of time to meet colleagues and explore collaboration. The conference includes lunch and there will be drinks afterwards. Attendance is free of charge.

You can register now via the registration form. Registration closes on 15 October. If the maximum number of participants is reached earlier, we will close registration earlier. We therefore encourage you to register as soon as you can.
