From TikTok trends to political fandoms, propaganda is no longer a matter of grand gestures and mass media but nestles unnoticed in our daily scrolling routines. The IMPAKT exhibition Ambient Propaganda, explores how ideology increasingly circulates in the digital age as a form of ambient influence—subtle, ubiquitous, and often unrecognizable. Where propaganda used to be imposed through top-down messages, it now flows through memes, aesthetics, and influencer performances that "feel good" and that we, often unknowingly, actively spread simply by liking, sharing, or by joining the latest trend. Ambient Propaganda reveals how information, emotion, and self-expression intertwine online, and invites you to reflect on the digital culture you help shape—a culture which has direct political, social, and even military consequences.
