Bonnie Honig (Professor of Modern Culture and Media as well as Political Science at Brown University) will be the Spinoza Chair 2026. Her many publications on questions of democracy, feminism, law, and art include books like Antigone, Interrupted, the widely received Public Things: Democracy in Despair, or A Feminist Theory of Refusal. To prepare for Honig’s stay with us as the Spinoza Chair in April and May 2026, we will discuss her latter book on the politics of refusal as transformation.
