In marking this occasion, this workshop will open with a general welcome and introduction to the research network, with information for UvA humanities researchers about potential opportunities for funded fellowships to the International Research Center for Japanese Studies (IRCJS) in Kyoto. There will then be two panel sessions with short presentations about current media/cultural research related to Japan, which will be delivered by several UvA researchers (Dr. Rik Spanjers, Dr. Oliver Seibt, Dr. Vincent Kuitenbrouwer), along with two researchers based in Japan (Dr. Nanako Ota and Taufik Hidayah).
