As of this academic year, ARTES will be organizing its own research seminar, next to the training program offered by the faculty-AIHR and courses in specific national (disciplinary) research schools. The ARTES Interdisciplinary Seminar will start with four sessions in the 2nd semester. Next year, we aim to offer 7 or 8 sessions.

The goal of the seminar is to read and discuss, together with a discussant (a senior ARTES member) texts on theory and methodology from the humanities and the social sciences. In this way, all ARTES Phd-candidates are not only offered a way to strengthen their theoretical and methodological skills, but also to reflect on their own thesis project from an interdisciplinary perspective.

Participation is expected both for internal and external Phd-candidates. Meetings will be hybrid, in order to enable Phd candidates at a distance also to participate.

Registration for each series is required: artes-fgw@uva.nl

Questions?: g.j.a.snel@uva.nl
